About

I built Chai People because the right hire gives a leader room to lead again.

I've spent two decades watching what separates leaders who thrive from leaders who burn out, and it almost always comes down to who's standing beside them.

Two women in a warm business conversation
Hannah, founder of Chai People

Twenty years ago I was knocking on doors for straight commission, no base, no safety net. That's still the sharpest lesson I've had in resilience, and I've carried it into everything since. I'm building Chai People because it's genuinely meaningful work. It fits around my family instead of fighting it, and it's something I'm proud to call my own.

I've spent two decades in B2B sales and recruitment, hiring back-office professionals since 2019. I've watched what happens when a leader has the right person, and the right team, beside them, and what happens when they don't.

Chai People places the back-office hires that make everything else possible, Chiefs of Staff, EAs, Operations, HR, Finance and Admin leaders who take the weight off a leader's desk, and the teams built around them. Great operators are adaptable. They treat change as business as usual, not a crisis to manage around.

I work in retained partnership with you. That means I'm invested in getting this right alongside you from day one, not just when a placement lands. Every search starts with a real conversation, not a job spec, because I want to understand where decisions stall, what's not getting followed through, and what you're doing at 11pm that shouldn't be yours.

One day my kids, all five of them, will be old enough to understand what I built here. I want it to be something worth showing them.

"The best leaders don't just fill a role. They change what's possible."

What I believe

Depth over volume

I'd rather make ten great placements than a hundred average ones. I take the time to get it right.

Honesty above all

I tell clients and candidates what I actually think. That's rarer than it should be in recruitment.

Curiosity over assumptions

I'd rather ask one more question than guess. The right questions are usually what separates a good placement from a great one.

The right fit matters

Skills get you in the room. Culture fit, values alignment, and mutual respect are what make a placement last.

Work with someone who gets it.

Whether you're hiring or looking, I'd love to have a conversation.
